Yes, some of these are different to the ones in the list…consider them a bonus! 🙂 (and not the fact that when my sister moved out she took some of my favourites with her)
Australia is proud to be represented by Fat Amy.
The Other Woman
Spit-your-drink-out-funny. Maybe not technically a rom com, it’s more about the women’s friendships and their hilarious revenge on Kate’s cheating husband. But the scene with the laxatives in his drink is one of my all-time favourites.
When In Rome
So it’s no high-brow work of art, but I just loved seeing the usually smooth Josh Duhamel be a klutz.
The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Maybe not technically a rom com, but it’s both romantic and funny, as well as ridiculously stylish. How long did Henry Cavill have to practice that voice to make it so smooth?
Two Weeks’ Notice
My favourite Hugh Grant movie. Cute. Funny. Awkward as ever.
I’ve done some completely different blog posts this week!
The first is up on the Christian Writers Downunder blog, and is piece for writers on how the concept of partnership is an effective tool to supercharge romantic (or even platonic) relationships in novels.
It’s even got a checklist with examples from popular books and movies. 🙂
Captain America and Natasha Romanoff have great teamwork in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Dr John Watson and Sherlock Holmes are one of the greatest fictional teams of all time.
Annie and Auggie’s partnership as workmates in the CIA is central to the TV show Covert Affairs.
Prince Charming has partnership all figured out with Snow White in Once Upon A Time.
