What’s your favorite stories with heart? Or looking for comedic fiction recommendations?
Then check out the latest two episodes of StoryNerds!
Our latest episode on ‘stories with heart’ features an interview with the author of ‘The Baggage Handler’, David Rawlings.
Meanwhile, our last February episode was on ‘comedy with fiction’. Book blogger Rel Mollet from Relz Reviews joined myself and Hannah to talk about our favorite types of comedy and recommendations from books to TV and movies.
Spit-your-drink-out-funny. Maybe not technically a rom com, it’s more about the women’s friendships and their hilarious revenge on Kate’s cheating husband. But the scene with the laxatives in his drink is one of my all-time favourites.
When In Rome
So it’s no high-brow work of art, but I just loved seeing the usually smooth Josh Duhamel be a klutz.
The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Maybe not technically a rom com, but it’s both romantic and funny, as well as ridiculously stylish. How long did Henry Cavill have to practice that voice to make it so smooth?
Two Weeks’ Notice
My favourite Hugh Grant movie. Cute. Funny. Awkward as ever.
Gathering inspiration for book #2: do you have any anecdotes about ridiculous newlywed fights? 🙂
As a single gal myself, I plan to put my imagination to good use, but it would be awesome to be able to draw inspiration from some real-life couples.
I’m totally willing to offer my own anecdote in exchange, but fair warning, most of mine revolve around:
1. Gross-out farm stories
2. Funny stuff from my journo days
3. My weird brothers. (Love you boys!)
So share your stories, your friends’ stories, that-weird-lady-from-down-the-street’s stories!
